The only differences are infrastructure (self-hosted vs cloud), support response times, and additional features like LMS integration.

Self-hosted plans: You provide the infrastructure (department servers or cloud resources like AWS/Azure/GCP). We provide installation support, updates, and troubleshooting. Best for departments with IT resources who want maximum control and privacy. Cloud plans: We provide everything - hosting, SSL, backups, monitoring, 99.5-99.9% uptime SLA. No IT required. Best for departments without dedicated IT or those who want zero infrastructure burden.

This is the industry standard pricing model. Self-hosted is cheaper because you provide the infrastructure (servers, storage, bandwidth). Cloud is 2x the cost because we handle everything: server costs, monitoring, backups, SSL certificates, disaster recovery, 24/7 uptime, and support. Our margins are similar (~30-40%) across all tiers - the difference is in our operational costs.

Yes! You can upgrade from self-hosted to cloud at any time. We'll help migrate your data and configuration. You can also downgrade from cloud to self-hosted (though you'll need to provide infrastructure). Contact education@aelira.ai for migration assistance.

Volume discounts apply to department plans when purchasing multiple: • 1-4 departments: $1,299/mo each (0% off) • 5-10 departments: $1,169/mo each (10% off) • 11-20 departments: $1,104/mo each (15% off) • 21+ departments: $1,039/mo each (20% off) For 10+ departments, we recommend the Institution plans instead (better value + unlimited departments).

The pilot program offers 50% off for 3 months for the first 50 departments ($649/mo instead of $1,299/mo).
