PowerPoint Scanner
Scan PPTX presentations and review bounded changes to alt text, slide titles, and eligible text colours.
What the scanner checks
Checks cover image alt text, text/background contrast, missing, empty or duplicate slide titles, optional images-of-text OCR, animation timing patterns, and embedded media caption or transcript signals. These signals do not establish that the presentation is accessible.
What remediation can change
The remediator may set alt text on a located shape, adjust text colour when foreground/background metadata is available, and add a missing title. Reading-order guidance is written into speaker notes; Aelira does not structurally reorder shapes. It does not add captions to embedded media or replace images of text. Colour vision analysis
The processor enables colour vision deficiency (CVD) simulation by default when its simulator initializes. It analyzes eligible text/background colour pairs and records simulated contrast issues. This is not a rendered simulation of every slide or proof that colour-only information is understandable. Inspect the reported contrast findings and verify charts, legends and meaning manually; unavailable analysis is not a pass.
Input and review limits
Upload .pptx, not legacy .ppt. The default PPTX upload limit is 50 MiB; administrators can configure it. OCR detection of images of text is opt-in and requires Tesseract. Generated alt text needs an authorized AI provider and a person to check meaning. Compare the saved presentation with the original and test its navigation and media before approval.
Authenticated API usage
Use your deployment URL and an authorized API key. The localhost URL below is for a locally running API.

Poll GET /education/scans/{scan_id}/progress, then retrieve GET /education/scans/{scan_id}. Scanning does not modify the file. Request remediation separately and inspect its delivered outcomes before expecting a download.
